"Keeping Australia's
International Trade Moving"

APSA

Association Alliances

APSA and FTA contribute to global trade and regulatory reforms via membership of international associations - at a domestic level, alliances with key industry associations allows APSA and FTA to provide a respected, influential and holistic industry perspective in advocacy activity.

APSA is Australia's representative to the Global Shipper's Forum (GSF). The GSF represents shippers' interests and that of their respective organisations from Asia, Europe, North and South America and Africa. The main focus of the GSF is to influence commercial developments in the international freight transport industry and the policy decisions of governments and international organisations as they affect shippers and receivers of freight.

"The Australian International Movers Association relies upon FTA to advocate its position in dealings with the Australian Border Force and the Department of Agriculture and Water Resources. AIMA has found FTA to be extremely effective in this regard. The AIMA membership has also benefitted from FTA's engagement and communication in wider industry issues such VGM SOLAS compliance and stevedoring.

The Australian International Movers Association is also an active member of the Australian Peak Shippers' Association and has retained a position on the board of APSA to ensure the interests of Australian international moving companies are protected in its dealings with international shipping lines and governmental authorities.

As both an importer and exporter, AIMA is supportive of the move to tie APSA and FTA closer together and will continue its membership of both organisations."
