WISHING ALL MEMBERS A SAFE AND HEALTHY NEW YEAR
As we come to the end of what has been an incredibly difficult year, we want to take this opportunity to express our enormous gratitude to all members for your ongoing support. 
 
2021 will also no doubt come with considerable challenges, but unlike 2020, at least this time we can see what is ahead of us (to a degree). In response, we will be increasing resources in the new year to provide ongoing member support, to tackle shipping competition matters and support regulatory reform through our influential advocacy alliance.
 
With Australia largely staying in control of the spread of the virus, it is also our intention to host a face-to-face Australian Peak Shippers Association (APSA) Annual General Meeting in Wagga Wagga (with an invitation extended to the Deputy Prime Minister) on 17 August 2021 (please pencil in this date with more detail to come).

We also look forward to again engaging with Freight & Trade Alliance (FTA) members at our upcoming CPD Border Compliance events in February and again in July - Sept (Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth) - please refer UPCOMING EVENTS.

UPDATE: CPD (NSW) BORDER COMPLIANCE PROGRAM - FEB 5 & 6, 2021
As a result of Sydney's Northern Beaches COVID-19 outbreak, the NSW government has announced that social distancing for venues in Greater Sydney will revert back to the 4 square meter per person rule. 

We have therefore reached capacity for Friday 5 February 2021 in conjunction with our booked overflow room. We still have places available for Saturday 6 February 2021. 

Should you wish to go on a "waiting list" for Friday 5 February or register for Saturday 6 February please contact Caroline at czalai@ftalliance.com.au or 02 9975 1878.
All sessions will provide 24 CPD points for the customs broker licensing period ending 31 March 2021.

PORT BOTANY ON-TRACK TO SUPPORT NSW
Thank you to NSW Ports for their commentary in the most recent edition of our member publication ACROSS BORDERS
"We are investing $250 million to develop the Enfield Intermodal Logistics Centre including an intermodal terminal and logistics warehouses connected by dedicated freight rail to Port Botany. The intermodal terminal, operated by LINX Cargo Care, and seven warehouses are now fully operational, with other warehouse precincts currently under construction. Along with Cooks River and other intermodal terminals, these facilities will act as logistics hubs on the corridor to the growing Western Sydney and regional areas."
