WISHING ALL MEMBERS A SAFE, HAPPY & HEALTHY CHRISTMAS
The international trade sector has once again showcased its resilience through enormous challenges experienced during 2020.

From an FTA / APSA perspective, we have been proud to provide a vital support and advocacy role during this time and look forward to again working closely alongside members in 2021.

As experienced in other states, we will recover from the current COVID-19 outbreak in NSW and must keep reminding ourselves and be more grateful than ever that we live in the 'lucky country".

We sincerely wish everyone a safe, happy and healthy Christmas.

WEEK IN REVIEW
CARGOWISE TECHNICAL PROBLEMS
We have received advice from many members over the last 24 hours having difficulties accessing and experiencing "freezing" issues when using *CargoWise.

*CargoWise is the operational software application hosted by WiseTech Global used by the majority of Australian freight forwarders / customs brokerages.

Advice received this morning from WiseTech Global is that they have identified an issue with Microsoft and are implementing a workaround which is expected to return performance to previous levels.

At the time of releasing this update, members are reporting a continuation of major technical problems.

We will maintain direct contact WiseTech Global executive and will keep members up to date with developments.
SYDNEY'S NORTHERN BEACHES COVID-19 UPDATE
Further to our first official update, we received a member enquiry that a delivery has been prevented to the Norther Beaches which is contrast to our understanding that freight related activities are permitted and is not an excluded activity under the Public Health Order.

We have raised this matter with Transport for NSW who are confirming final advice and communications with industry on this aspect today and we hope to have an update this afternoon.

We will keep members at the cutting edge of implications to international trade on our dedicated Coronavirus Updates page

SUSTAINABILITY REMAINS AT THE FOREFRONT OF THE PORTS INDUSTRY
Thank you to ADAM COOPER - Company Secretary / General Council for his commentary in the most recent edition of our member magazine, Across Borders.
While in the near-term the market will continue to be challenging, what the sustainability trend shows us is that threats – in this case threats linked to environmental degradation and climate change – can lead to innovation and value creation.

The embedding of sustainability into the supply chain sector is hugely exciting. And we are seeing other exciting innovation being driven by businesses looking to become more resilient.
