In what is a major development for the Freight & Trade Alliance (FTA) and the Australian Peak Shippers Association, highly respected industry advocate John Park is to commence on 18 June 2019 as the alliance's Head of Business Operations."Tasmania, like the rest of Australia, relies on international shipping to get our produce to markets and there will be additional cost when the global shipping fleet commence using the low sulphur fuels," he said. "Our committee and the FTA have been working with the Australian Maritime College to explore this issue further and we intend to prepare a briefing document to the shipping industry and government to highlight these challenges."
