Equities continue to test record levels, fuelled by corporate earnings and a string of stronger global economic data. China Trade data showed a continued strong performance with both exports and imports surging. This is a great spark for commodity demand and was reflected in the associated currencies. The AUD has jumped to close the week approaching 0.7900, while the NZD pushed towards 0.7200, despite political uncertainty. US CPI pushed up to 2.2%, confirming strong domestic growth, while Retail Sales grew 1.6%. University of Michigan Sentiment, spiked to 101.10, reinforcing confidence confirmed by data.
