Ports and Maritime Administration (PAMA) Act and Port Botany Landside Improvement Strategy (PBLIS)


FTA / APSA have signalled to Transport for NSW that we will strongly object to these two recommendations as further stakeholder engagement proceeds :
  • PBLIS Recommendation 6: Remove the broad power for regulating stevedore charges: 
  • PBLIS Recommendation 19: Remove regulated rail servicing arrangements : 
Instead of using existing provisions to control Terminal Access Charges, the recommendations are suggesting a removal of existing legislation to control pricing.  READ MORE

MANDATORY CONTINUING PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT (CPD) MODULE

The Australian Border Force (ABF) have advised under the updated Australian Customs Notice No. 2023/23 that the mandatory CPD module is now available for completion.

ALL licensed customs brokers must complete this mandatory module by 31 March 2024

QANTAS FREIGHT - Terminal Service Fee Invoice UPDATE

Published 23 January 2024

International Terminal Service Fee invoices covering the period from 24 Sep 2023 commenced distribution in early Jan 2024.  
The latest invoice covering the week of 8 to 14 Oct 2023 is being distributed to the normal recipients for invoices via email from 23 Jan 2024.
All remaining outstanding invoices will be distributed in the coming weeks and we'll keep you updated on when they're available.

Government agencies seeking public support

As mentioned in the DCN, authorities are asking for the public to come forward with any information on 157 kilograms of methylamphetamine that arrived in Sydney by air cargo. Australian Border Force officers found the drugs on 29 December. The consignment had come from Germany. READ MORE
