Help test the new DIBP web site

Monday, July 4, 2016

Dear colleagues

I am writing to follow up on our commitment made earlier in the year to invite industry members to provide feedback into our new industry-focussed website and Industry News Hub website before it is finalised for a launch in late August.

We are now seeking people to participate in usability testing for an initial smaller session of 10 people Tuesday 12 July and a larger session of 30 people Tuesday 9 August.

For the session on Tuesday 12 July, guests are invited to spend 45 minutes 'driving' our beta website with a range of tasks including finding news and updates on our new Industry News Hub, navigating the simplified and redesigned webpages, and searching for specific information using our newly developed tariff and tariff concession order search functionality. Participants will be asked for feedback, and their web use and comments will be monitored and recorded for research purposes only. Participants will be renumerated with $50 or a gift card for their efforts.

Following this, we will be seeking 30 people for more extensive testing on Tuesday 9 August, which will incorporate the feedback from the first testing group. More information will be provided on this session later.

We are keen to get your support for this process to ensure the improved DIBP website reflects industry needs. This is a great opportunity to have input into its development and improve the user experience.

If you, or a number of your members, would be willing to help us I would be most grateful if you could register interest in attending one of the sessions below by emailing industry.engagement@border.gov.au (please note there are only ten places in the first session). We will then be in touch with further details.
