NSW - Port Supply Chain Awareness Workshop

Thursday, October 1, 2015

NSW Ports is proud to announce an upcoming Port Supply Chain Awareness Workshop – "How the Container Transport Supply Chain Works" that we are supporting, being run by Container Transport Alliance Australia (CTAA) on Wednesday 14th October 2015.

The Workshop is designed particularly for people whose employment is associated with container transport logistics, yet they may only have a rudimentary understanding of how the chain actually works, and where they "sit" within the chain.

It will provide information to participants on the physical and information flows associated with container transport logistics, describing optimum import and export supply chains, then what happens in practice that can increase costs, commercial frictions and frustrations. The day includes a tour of the Port precinct, as well as to a transport yard and to an Empty Container Park.

The Port Supply Chain Container Awareness Workshop will be presented by Neil Chambers, a highly respected supply chain advocate and former Chief Executive of the Victorian Transport Association along with Gerard Langes, a former P&O Maritime and DP World executive. The combined knowledge and experience of these two senior industry players is second to none and will ensure this workshop will be both highly relevant and richly rewarding for all attendees.

This Workshop is of interest to people employed by importers, exporters, freight forwarders, customs brokers, transport companies, Empty Container Park operators, government agencies and departments, and others with an interest in learning more about the landside container transport logistics sector.

Attached is a Flyer, which can also be downloaded from the CTAA Website: http://ctaction.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Port-Supply-Chain-Awareness-Workshop-Port-Botany1.pdf
