Approved arrangement Class 19 Continuing Biosecurity Competency (CBC) dates for 2026/2027

Dates for the next Continued Biosecurity Competency (CBC) activity for Approved Arrangement Class 19 accredited persons have now been published.

The second CBC 2026-27/02 activity will be available from Tuesday, 13 October 2026

The activity includes both a learning and assessment component and will be delivered through the department's education and training platform, Learnhub ONLY.

Important: All accredited persons must complete the CBC activity by Tuesday, 10 November 2026.

Brisbane steels for the future

PORT of Brisbane has welcomed the Queensland Government's decision to grant Alter Steel's planned $1 billion steel mill Priority Project status, recognising its economic and social significance to the state.The mill is planned to produce approximately 500,000 tonnes of low embodied-carbon reinforcing steel each year, replacing a significant volume of steel currently imported into Australia. Group EBITDA is now expected to be in the range of USD 3.9 to 4.4 billion (previously: USD 2.7 to 3.7 billion) and Group EBIT in the range of USD 1.25 to 1.75 billion (previously: USD 0.1 to 1.1 billion).
