Who does this notice affect?

????First point of entry (FPOE) operators, vessel?operators, shipping agents, importers,?brokers?and others.

What has changed?

The?biosecurity?FPOE determination for?Port of Melbourne has been?varied?-?Biosecurity (First Point of Entry—Port of Melbourne) Determination 2019.

???As a result,?a new biosecurity entry point (BEP), Yarraville 5, has been added for vessels other than non-commercial vessels and passenger vessels (commercial vessels), inorganic bulk goods, baggage carried on a vessel other than a non-commercial vessel or a passenger vessel (commercial vessel baggage), and waste.

?Yarraville 6 has also been removed as a BEP from the determination.

???Permission must be obtained from the department prior to any arrival at Port of Melbourne that is not?permitted?by?the?FPOE determination.

???It is the obligation of the person in charge of?a vessel?to ensure that the vessel?complies with?the relevant FPOE determination. Operators and other stakeholders should consult relevant FPOE determinations to ensure that their proposed vessel or goods movements are compliant with the current determinations.
