Purpose
This Industry Advice Notice (IAN) is to inform stakeholders of an upcoming webinar on Indonesia's Halal requirements.
The webinar will take place on Tuesday 29 September, 2:30-3:30pm.

Summary of key points
On 18 October 2026, Indonesia's new halal certification requirements will become mandatory for a wide range of products entering the Indonesian market, including food and beverages, cosmetics, traditional medicines, chemical products, low-risk medical devices and some clothing and appliances. Australian businesses exporting these products to Indonesia will need to take additional compliance steps to maintain market access.
The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), with the support of the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF), Department of Industry and Science (DISR) and Austrade, invites you to an online information session on Indonesia's new halal certification requirements for exports of halal and non-halal products.
The webinar will provide:
- An overview of Indonesia's Halal Law;
- Updates on requirements for exporting businesses; and
- An opportunity for questions and answers.
