Joint Standing Committee on Treaties

Invitation for Participation

Freight & Trade Alliance (FTA) and the Australian Peak Shippers Association (APSA) have been invited by the Joint Standing Committee on Treaties (JSCOT) to provide views as part of its inquiry into the following major treaty action:

Protocol to the Singapore-Australia Free Trade Agreement on Economic Resilience and Essential Supplies

The Committee is seeking industry views on any or all aspects of the Protocol, depending on areas of interest and expertise.

The inquiry provides an opportunity for members to consider the proposed arrangements and identify any practical implications, opportunities or areas requiring further consideration.

Further information about the Protocol and the JSCOT inquiry is available HERE.

JSCOT is accepting submissions until Wednesday 2 September 2026, with interested members able to make a submission directly to the Committee.

FTA/APSA also welcomes feedback from members with views on the proposed arrangements, particularly where there are practical considerations relevant to importers, exporters and the broader international supply chain.

Members wishing to share feedback with FTA/APSA are encouraged to contact Sal Milici at smilici@FTAlliance.com.au.

Feedback received will assist in informing FTA/APSA's ongoing engagement on the inquiry.
