Who does this notice affect?

Stakeholders in the import and shipping industries—including vessel masters, freight forwarders, Master Consolidators, treatment providers, Biosecurity Industry Participants, importers, customs brokers, and principal agents— associated with importing goods that require increased intervention during the BMSB risk season.

What has changed?

In response to industry feedback the department is now delivering two industry information sessions on the BMSB seasonal measures to apply to certain goods shipped to Australia as sea cargo between 1 September 2026 and 30 April 2027 inclusive.

These sessions will cover goods being imported, shipped or treated during the BMSB risk season.

Information sessions

The department will host two online sessions. The details and a link to join your chosen session are included in the table below. Please ensure you set a reminder in your calendar for the session you wish to attend.
