Ministerial appointment for FTA / APSA - NSW Freight Transport Advisory Committee (FTAC)

Representing Freight & Trade Alliance (FTA) and the Australian Peak Shippers Association (APSA), I was honored to be appointed to the NSW Freight Transport Advisory Council (FTAC) and attend my first meeting yesterday (29 July 2026) as a member of this important ministerial advisory body.

Reporting directly to the NSW Minister for Transport, FTAC provides strategic advice on the coordination, planning, regulation, development and operation of freight transport, infrastructure and network services across New South Wales. Through its end-to-end, multi-modal approach, the council supports improved connectivity, sustainability, productivity and economic growth across the state's freight and logistics sector.

The meeting provided a valuable opportunity to engage with industry and government leaders, including The Hon. John Graham MLC, Minister for Transport, and The Hon. Jenny Aitchison MP, Minister for Roads and Regional Transport.

It was also a pleasure to reconnect with The Hon. Duncan Gay, Chair of FTAC.



Duncan brings extensive experience to the role, having served as NSW Minister for Roads, Maritime and Freight from 2011 to 2017, before later chairing the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator. His long-standing contribution to Australia's freight and transport sectors continues to be highly respected across industry and government alike.

We encourage members to provide any NSW-related freight, transport, logistics or supply chain priorities, concerns or recommendations that you would like raised through this forum.
