This notice provides guidance on how to use the print indicator for generating and receiving meat certificates to avoid potentially unnecessary replacement certificate charges.

  • NEXDOC offers options when an export certificate can be generated and printed. 
  • If 'automatic' is selected, the certificate will be generated and immediately sent to print. Any changes or amendments made after the certificate has printed may incur a replacement certificate charge.
  • To control when the certificate is sent to the printer, clients can select 'hold'. This allows changes to be made prior to the certificate being printed, thus not incurring any potential replacement certificate charges. Once satisfied that no further changes are required, 'release to print' can then be selected. This will ensure that only the original certificate is charged and not a replacement certificate.

Print indicator selection

The print indicator in NEXDOC allows the client to control when a certificate can be generated and printed. 

If 'automatic' is selected, the certificate will automatically generate and print once the REX reaches COMP status.

  • If printing to a regional office, the certificate will automatically print at that location and the usual collection procedure applies. However, for REXs to date-sensitive markets that require a vet signature and/or cross outs, having the certificate automatically print outside of normal business hours may impact the department's ability to issue the certificate to meet importing country requirements (e.g. same day signature or signature prior to departure).
  • Automatic printing may also result in certificates moving to COMP before exporters can amend fields intended for completion later in the supply chain (i.e. certificates may reach COMP and will print before fields containing 'tbc' can be amended).
  • If using your own printer, the certificate will automatically generate but the print button will need to be selected on the certificate screen to direct it to the printer.

If 'hold' is selected, the certificate will remain in draft and the REX will remain at 'Certificate Ready' (CTRD) status until it is ready to be generated and printed.

To generate the certificate, select 'release to print' on the REX page. This will push the REX from CTRD status to COMP status.

The options for the print indicator and print destination are selected when lodging the REX. These options are contained within the Additional Details tab. NEXDOC will show the available options based on the incoming country requirements selected at the start of the REX application.
