SYDNEY"S DUAL-AIRPORT FUTURE

Thursday, July 9, 2026

A recent industry report in RealEstate.Source.com.au revealed that Amazon has secured a site adjacent to Western Sydney International Airport at Bradfield for a proposed 200,000sqm robotics-enabled fulfilment centre which will be one of the largest facilities of its kind in Australia.

The announcement further reinforces Western Sydney's emergence as a major logistics, distribution and airfreight hub.

For the freight and logistics sector, the significance extends well beyond a single development. As major investments continue to flow into the Bradfield precinct and Western Sydney International Airport prepares to commence operations, businesses are increasingly asking a practical question:

"How should freight forwarders, importers, exporters and logistics providers position their operations across Sydney's two international airports?"

This question will be front and centre during the dedicated Airfreight Session at the Australia & New Zealand Shipping & Logistics Conference. (Day 2, Friday 28 Auguist 2026)

Delegates will hear directly from Bradfield Development Authority, Western Sydney International Airport, Sydney Airport and Menzies Aviation on the opportunities and challenges associated with Australia's newest international freight gateway, the future growth of air cargo, and the practical considerations of operating in a dual-airport environment.

As a valued conference sponsor and keynote presenter, Amazon's latest investment highlights the broader trends reshaping supply chains, distribution networks and airfreight infrastructure. The conference provides a unique opportunity to hear directly from the organisations driving this transformation and to better understand what it means for the future of Australian trade and logistics.

If your business relies on efficient international supply chains, this is a session not to miss.
