NEXDOC – Meat and Meat Products to NEXDOC – Impacts to service delivery.
Attention
- All exporters, establishments, exporter agents, and freight forwarders.
- Central and regional offices of the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (the department).
Purpose
To inform stakeholders that impacts to export-related service delivery may be encountered as meat export documentation transitions from the Export Documentation (EXDOC) system to the Next Export Documentation (NEXDOC) system (IAN 26-13: NEXDOC Meat and Meat Products Go Live Date – 6 July 2026)
Key points
- The department anticipates a significant increase in enquiries in the lead-up to, and immediately following, the transition of meat export documentation to NEXDOC.
- As a result, stakeholders may experience delays in service delivery, including response times to enquiries and the processing of export documentation requests.
- The department is implementing measures to triage and manage the increased demand; however, stakeholder cooperation will be critical in ensuring timely support can be provided.
Supporting timely enquiries
- To enable the department to respond as quickly as possible, stakeholders are requested to provide complete and accurate information when lodging all enquiries, regardless of commodity. This includes (where relevant):
- The Request for Export (REX) number or the exporter reference;
- Product details;
- Date of departure;
- Destination country;
- Transport mode (sea or air);
- Clear screenshots of the issue;
- Whether third party software or the portal is being used; and
- A detailed description of the enquiry, including the specific area within the REX the enquiry relates to (for example, registration, product details, printing, or certification status).
- You will also be asked this information if you telephone for assistance. Providing this information upfront and in a timely manner will support faster triage and resolution of enquiries and minimise delays over the transition period.
Further information
- Further information on the transition to NEXDOC can be found on the department's website at Meat Notices 2026. Guidance material and fact sheets such as how to register, who to contact in the event of error message, and other key changes can be found at Transitioning meat and meat products to NEXDOC.
- To avoid disruption to export operations, stakeholders are encouraged to ensure they are familiar with these system changes and are prepared ahead of the transition date.
