2026 Census – Senior Licensed Broker Declaration

Sunday, June 28, 2026

3DL is a proud sponsor of the upcoming Australia & New Zealand Shipping & Logistics Conference and is well known for its active contribution to industry initiatives.

Continuing that commitment, Director, Founder and Senior Licensed Customs Broker, Chris Roberts, has put forward the following suggestion as part of this year's Census, to be held on Tuesday, 11 August 2026.

Eligible members are encouraged to declare "Senior Licensed Customs Broker" in their professional identification.

This is a simple but important step to strengthen recognition of experienced brokers across our industry.

What you need to do:

  • If eligible, declare "Senior Licensed Customs Broker" in the Census
  • Begin using the designation consistently in your professional profile (email signature, LinkedIn, business materials)

Who is eligible:

  • Licensed Customs Brokers with 5 or more years active practice, or
  • Brokers with a relevant degree or equivalent higher qualification aligned to the profession

Why this matters:

  • Builds a measurable national profile of experienced brokers
  • Strengthens industry advocacy with evidence based data
  • Improves recognition with clients, regulators and government
  • Supports future alignment to higher skill classification under ANZSCO

Industry target:

  • A minimum of 300 brokers declaring this designation
  • Strong participation is critical to achieving meaningful recognition outcomes

This initiative is voluntary and does not involve regulatory change. It is a professional convention to better reflect experience and capability within the industry.

Your participation will directly support broader advocacy for the profession, including skills recognition and workforce sustainability.
