Purpose

To inform stakeholders that:

  • Micor will be migrating to a new platform on 16 July 2026
  • Online information sessions will be delivered from 29 June 2026 to 6 July 2026
  • Industry members can register for information sessions using the links provided in this IAN

Summary of Key Points

  • The vendor support for current Micor platform will cease in July 2026 making it vulnerable to security risks. To ensure continuity of service, maintain system reliability and security, Micor will be migrated to a new platform on 16 July 2026.
  • The new platform is expected to have minimal impact on end users, with most experiencing only minor user interface changes.
  • All the existing content from the current platform will be migrated to the new platform.
  • To meet Australian Government security standards, the new platform requires Two-Factor Authentication (TFA) to access content that is currently password protected. This means, in addition to a password, users will be required to provide a one-time pass code received either in their email or generated by an authenticator application.
  • Online information sessions will be delivered from 29 June 2026 to 6 July 2026 via Microsoft Teams Webinar to help you transition to the new application.
  • Industry members can register for the sessions as per the schedule below. Registering for a TFA session will cover both general and TFA setup/enrolment information.

Background

What does platform upgrade mean for users?

  • There will be minimal impact on end users, with most experiencing only minor user interface changes.
  • The micor.agriculture.gov.au weblink will remain the same. However, existing bookmarks to specific content pages created by end users will need to be updated post transition.
  • For users accessing password-protected content, Two-Factor Authentication (TFA) will be required in addition to a username and password, with the ability for users to choose between receiving verification codes via an authenticator application or email.
  • User guides and training materials will be made available to support users ahead of the transition to the new platform. This will include guidance on setting up Two-Factor Authentication (TFA) on the new platform.
