Who does this notice affect? 

Stakeholders associated with the biosecurity clearance of sea freight containers imported into Australia that are destined for unpack in a rural location. This includes customs brokers, importers, and Biosecurity Industry Participants (BIPs) that hold approval for Approved Arrangement (AA) Class 14.4 - Rural tailgate inspection.

What has changed? 

The unplanned service disruption to the automated system used to support processing and finalise Approved Arrangement Class 14.4 – Rural tailgate inspection activities has been resolved with inspection results processing as normal. 

Container inspection results submitted since Friday 5 June 2026, through either the Biosecurity Portal, the Rural tailgate container inspection record (PDF) or submission via a third-party application are now being automatically processed in date order with entries expected to be finalised and ICS status updated to show clear' by no later than Monday 15 June.
