Who does this notice affect?

All shipping agents or operators of maritime conveyances who will be required to report pre-arrival information during this planned maintenance period.

Detail:

The Maritime and Aircraft Reporting System (MARS) is currently experiencing an unplanned service disruption. The system is not receiving up to date vessel movement data from an external data provider. As a result, visit information is not being updated and Biosecurity Status Documents (BSDs) are not being sent automatically.

Impact

Shipping agents are not receiving BSDs in the typical timeframes.

Action

Agents should continue to submit Pre-Arrival Reports and all other applications as per normal.

This issue is being investigated as a priority and the department will advise once resolved.

The department will advise once services have been restored. The department apologises for any inconvenience caused.
