Who does this notice affect?
All parties who report Self-Assessed Clearance (SAC) declarations in the Integrated Cargo System (ICS) from 1 July 2026
What has changed?
The department has undertaken the annual review of all regulatory charges for biosecurity and imported foods, including the SAC cost recovery charge.
In accordance with cost recovery regulations, indexation provisions will apply to the SAC cost recovery charge for the 2026-27 financial year.
As a result, the SAC cost recovery charge will increase to 38 cents per declaration from 1 July 2026.
The existing exemption will continue to apply for reporters who report less than 278 SAC declarations in a given quarter.
