What has changed?
The Australian Centre for Disease Control has listed Andes Virus infection (Orthohantavirus andesense) as a listed human disease.
Due to the addition of Andes Virus infection, the Biosecurity (Listed Human Diseases) Determination 2016 has been updated and superseded by the Biosecurity (Listed Human Diseases) Determination 2026.
All permits referencing the Biosecurity (Listed Human Diseases) Determination 2016 will be affected by these changes. This includes both standard and non-standard permits. The department will contact impacted permit holders shortly with next steps.
