These have been announced by the Government and can be read here. All imports of nitrous oxide will require an import permit issued by the Director-General of Health. It is likely these changes will be in effect by 29 May 2026. Illegally imported consignments will be forfeit and may be seized by Customs. There will be no "en route" exception. Importers who will be affected by these changes are advised to contact the Ministry of Health for further information on the changes, and the permit process.
