Applications Open under Cargo Scheduling Policy

Freight & Trade Alliance (FTA) has received advice from the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF) on the publication of IAN 69 - 2026 covering Applications for Cargo Scheduling Policy

Industry Advice Notice 69/2026 refers.

What has changed?

This notice is to advise that applications for recurring appointments under the Cargo Scheduling Policy (the policy) are now open

The policy will consolidate historic scheduling arrangements including manned depots and permanent arrangements into recurring appointments, and will be implemented from July 2026.

While applications for recurring appointments will remain open, the department encourages all interested entities managing goods under biosecurity and/or imported food control requiring inspection to apply prior to July 2026 to enable a seamless transition.

Further information on the policy including:

  • the application process
  • eligibility
  • minimum threshold criteria.

Is available in the policy and on our web page, Scheduling arrangements for imported cargo inspections.

Any further enquiries can be addressed by contacting the department's Recurring Appointments Team at recurringappointments@aff.gov.au
