Purpose
This Industry Advice Notice (IAN) is to advise plant exporters, registered establishment occupiers and authorised officers (AOs) of updates to instructional material for completing plant export inspection and treatment records.
Summary of changes and key points
The Exports work instruction: Completing plant export inspection and treatment records has been updated on the Plant Export Operations Manual. The updates include:
- Clarification on recording outcome type for log consignments.
- Instructions on how to accurately record source details in the source field, even if consignment is from a singular source.
- Clarification on the recording of the standard sampling rate.
- Minor clarifications regarding what fields are required for treatment records when completed using the Plant Exports Management System (PEMS) records.
Background
We conduct regular review of export policy and relevant instructional materials to ensure they remain accurate and fit for purpose.
The instructional material for completing plant exports inspection and treatment records has been updated to provide greater clarity for users.
Authorised officer responsibilities
Authorised officers (AOs) should:
- read and familiarise themselves with the updated instructional material
- comply with the clarified and updated requirements when completing inspection and treatment records.
