Biosecurity Industry Reporting Industry Session

These sessions are tailored for Approved Arrangement Class 19 accredited persons and will focus on enhancements to the Biosecurity Industry Reporting tool — with a particular emphasis on the new fee reporting functionality.

DAFF will provide a live demonstration of the updated features and is actively seeking feedback from industry to ensure the tool meets operational needs.

About Biosecurity Industry Reporting

The Biosecurity Industry Reporting capability provides industry with improved visibility of in-progress entries referred to the department. The system enables users to access consignment-specific information, historical data and search functionality using a specific entry reference.

Cargo Status Report
The Cargo Status report includes two reporting pages:

1. Cargo Status

  • Focused on a single entry
  • Provides a process summary, including directions issued and their status
  • Includes details where biosecurity risk material has been identified
2. Brokerage Overview
  • Displays all in-progress entries referred to the department for a brokerage
  • Provides details including importer, intervention type, directions applied and entry information
  • Includes visibility of entries against estimated arrival dates and lodgement timelines
Fee Report
The Fee Report provides a detailed record of service view of fees and payments associated with biosecurity interventions applied to an entry.

This includes:
  • Inspection fees
  • Processing fees
  • Other charges associated with biosecurity interventions
This visibility assists accredited persons to:
  • Accurately account for regulatory charges
  • Improve operational efficiency
  • Reduce unexpected costs or miscommunication regarding intervention-related fees
Please note: the Record of Service displayed within the reporting functionality is not an official invoice.

Approved Arrangement (AA) Class 19.2 Usage & Uptake
The AA Class 19.2 usage & uptake report provides accredited persons with a self-service capability to view and print lodgement data relating to AA Class 19.2 entries.
The report includes:
  • A breakdown of entries lodged under AA Class 19.2
  • Identification of lodgement errors
  • Visibility of entries that were eligible for AA Class 19.2 but assessed by the department

This enhanced visibility allows industry to make more informed operational decisions and may support increased uptake of AA Class 19.2 where appropriate.

Access Enhancements
Access to Biosecurity Industry Reporting has been enhanced and is now available to users authenticated via myID and email-based access.

These improvements form part of the department's Simplified Targeting and Enhanced Processing Systems (STEPS) Program, delivering on commitments to improve consignment visibility and transparency for industry.

FTA encourages members who interact with DAFF's processes to attend one of the sessions to better understand how these reporting tools can support operational efficiency and compliance.
