Future Drought Fund Updates

Future Drought Fund 2024-25 annual report is now live

 

Dear Subscriber,

We're pleased to announce the release of the Future Drought Fund (FDF) 2024–25 annual report. The report highlights progress in strengthening drought and climate resilience for Australian farmers and communities. 

This year marked the start of a new 4-year funding cycle under the Drought Resilience Funding Plan (2024 to 2028). Some key achievements as of 30 June 2025, include:

  • Additional 42 regional drought resilience plans finalised, bringing the total to 57.
  • Support for local communities with more than 59,000 people benefiting from, or contributing to, leadership opportunities or locally led actions.
  • Establishment of a First Nations Advisory Group, to guide FDF programs with First Nations perspectives. 
  • Development of the first targeted First Nations grant, Strengthening Drought Resilience on Country.
  • Ongoing training and skills development with over 67,000 farmers taking part.
  • More than 36,600 users accessing the My Climate View tool, to understand local climate trends.
  • Release of a new Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Framework.
