Freight & Trade Alliance (FTA) and the Australian Peak Shippers Association (APSA) have received a safety notice to industry from Qantas Freight: Qantas Freight is issuing a safety notice following an Airworthiness Directive from the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) covering certain unsafe cargo nets manufactured by Aircraft Cabin Modification (ACM). The directive identifies ACM cargo nets, Part Number 5010-2M4N-()-()()() manufactured on or before 20 May 2025, as unsafe for service and requiring immediate withdrawal from usage. While Qantas Freight does not use ACM nets, we recognise that some partners may use ACM nets in their operations. To protect safety and compliance, ACM nets manufactured on or before 20 May 2025 are not to be used for any Qantas-related operations, including on any pallet or ULD tendered for carriage on a Qantas Group service. If an ACM net of this type is identified at acceptance or on-ramp, it must be removed from service immediately. For further information, please contact freightqualitycompliance@qantas.com.au. Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our people, aircraft, and operations safe. The full Qantas Freight announcement is available HERE.
