VALE - Barry Rogers

It is with great sadness that we acknowledge the passing of Barry Wilton Rogers, who passed away on 1 August 2025. 

For many of us, Barry was far more than a founder or a name attached to a business. He was a presence — thoughtful, steady, and deeply respected — at a time when freight forwarding relied on personal trust, practical judgement, and relationships built over years, not systems built overnight. 

Barry founded Barry Rogers & Co in 1984. He built it quietly and carefully, with an unwavering belief that how you conduct yourself matters just as much as what you deliver. Clients trusted him. Partners respected him. People knew that if Barry gave his word, it meant something. 

When the business later evolved into BR International Logistics, Barry's influence never faded. The principles he worked by — integrity, accountability, and a long-term view — became part of the company's foundation and continue to be a part of how we operate today. 

Those who worked with Barry remember his calm manner, his dry humour, and his ability to cut through complexity without fuss. He was never interested in noise or recognition. Instead, he preferred to offer quiet guidance, ask the right questions, and support others as they found their feet. 

Beyond his professional life, Barry remained a private and grounded man. With ties to both Sydney and regional New South Wales, he valued community, loyalty, and enduring friendships. 

Barry's passing was a shock to many of us who were unaware of his illness. We regret that this news did not reach parts of the industry sooner, and we wish to honour his life and contribution properly. 

We extend our heartfelt condolences to Barry's family, friends, and to all those whose lives — professionally and personally — were shaped by knowing him.
