Freight & Trade Alliance (FTA) and the Australian Peak Shippers Association (APSA) has received the latest Goods Compliance Update for December 2025, issued by the Australian Border Force (ABF).

In true festive spirit, the ABF has delivered a Christmas Eve present to customs brokers, the December 2025 Goods Compliance update is finally here. While it may not come wrapped in ribbon, it's packed with important reforms and operational improvements worth unwrapping before the year ends.

The latest update includes:

New benefits introduced, including origin document waivers under CEPA and AANZFTA and extended annual declaration timelines. Program continues to grow as a major trade-facilitation tool.

Anti-Dumping Compliance
ABF stresses correct use of anti-dumping exemption codes. Misuse continues to attract Infringement Notices.

TBML Lighthouse Project
A new regional initiative launched to strengthen detection of trade-based money laundering, with industry encouraged to report anomalies.

Industry Engagement
Updates on the Border Watch program, cargo reporting reforms, and digital trade technology improvements.

Temporary Imports
ABF has rolled out a new online portal for securities and temporary import applications, with simplified processes for carnet and non-carnet goods.
