Who does this notice affect?
All International airlines and aircraft operators, airline representatives, air crews and their contracted service providers operating international flights to Australia.
What has changed?
??Since 1 October 2023, the inflight traveller announcement video and audio message available on the department's website have been the only authorised versions for use on international flights to Australia.
?Any previous versions must be removed from service. Playing outdated versions is a contravention of section 220 of the Biosecurity Act 2015.
?Airlines are responsible for ensuring the current message or video is loaded and played on all aircraft, including aircraft returning to service after long-term storage or those rotated from other routes.
Action required
Airlines should:
- ?Confirm the current approved audio message or video is implemented across their fleet.
- ?Remove all outdated versions immediately.
- ?Ensure contracted service providers and aircrew are aware of this requirement.
- ?Check all aircraft, including those returning to service after long-term storage or rotation from other routes, to ensure the correct version is installed.

?Compliance
The department is monitoring use of the incoming traveller announcement and video. Failure to comply will be treated as a breach of the Biosecurity Act and may result in enforcement action.
