| Afternoon All, As per our notice of intention email dated 31 October 2025, Flinders Adelaide Container Terminal (FACT) are advising our final notice to increase charges effective of 1 January 2026. The increase is implemented after our recent review of our landside charges which are assessed once each year, in accordance with the National Voluntary Guidelines for Landside Stevedore Charges ("Guidelines"). FACT acknowledges the request of Australia's Infrastructure and Transport Ministers for the Guidelines to be updated so that all container terminal operators implement landside pricing changes annually on 1 January. To comply with this request, we will implement landside pricing changes effect from 1 January 2026. Our focus at FACT is being able to facilitate trade to and from South Australia by optimising supply chains to deliver the most capable, efficient and sustainable service. The annual review of landside pricing is undertaken to ensure that FACT can continue to provide effective landside services that meet the needs of our customers now and into the future. Any increases are implemented with caution and applied to ensure that our operations meet the demands and service level requirements of all our customers. FACT's landside charges are necessary to support the maintenance, property and operational costs incurred in providing our landside operations and enables the recapitalisation of equipment, technology and infrastructure. FACT continues to experience operating cost pressures, with increases across the cost base often in excess of inflationary indexes, particularly with respect to labour, capital infrastructure, property and energy costs. FACT is also committed to a significant capital investment program to ensure FACT can maintain landside service delivery standards to the industry and respond to the rapidly changing demands of our customers and a modern supply chain. In recent years, FACT has invested significantly to enhance landside operations, with further investments planned over the next three years. The investments being made are designed to support service reliability, efficiency, and sustainability of our operations through the following key projects: - Gate infrastructure and system upgrades – New terminal gate systems using the latest technology to streamline truck entry, enhance safety, and efficiently handle High Productivity Vehicles and future landside growth demands.
- Terminal Operating System and additional comprehensive technology upgrades – Material investment in improving the operating systems to deliver enhanced functionality, and visibility to our landside customers.
- Civil development works and other landside services – Development of the terminal's pavement, roadways, access corridors and capacity enabling FACT to operate efficiently, facilitate growth in demand and maintain consistency in service levels.
- Investment in new Automated Rubber Tyre Gantry cranes - FACT is assessing a transition to electric Automated Rubber Tyre Gantry cranes, reinforcing our long-term commitment to a sustainable, high-quality supply chain for South Australia.
FACT's significant landside investments are building the infrastructure, equipment, technology and capability to support decarbonisation and meet the future demands of our customers and the broader container supply chain in South Australia. 2026 Annual Review Effective from 1st January, 2026, the below table outlines the new landside pricing structure that will be applied to full export containers and full import containers that enter and leave FACT.
