Grant opportunity closing soon: $20M Innovation Challenges Pilot
 


Applications for the Innovation Challenges Pilot program grant will close on 22 October 2025 at 9:00pm (AEDT).  

The program takes a challenge-based approach to innovation funding and has been informed by, public consultation, Regional Drought Resilience Plans and advice from an independent expert advisory committee. 

The challenge-based approach aims to future-proof Australian agriculture by investing in high-impact projects that deliver long-term resilience across landscapes, water systems, and communities.

Up to $2 million is available per project through a competitive grant process.

Projects must be completed by 30 June 2028, and be delivered by a consortium of partners and provide innovative solutions to one or more of the following challenges:

  • Advancing Natural Capital and Biodiversity for Drought Preparedness and Resilience.?
  • Innovating Water Management for Enhanced Drought Resilience in Australian Agriculture.
  • National Innovation for Enhancing Community Resilience to Drought in Australian Agricultural Regions.?

Apply before 22 October 2025.
