Key points

We are excited to inform you that the migration of Tracking Animal Certification for Export (TRACE) into the Export Service was successful, and you now must use the Export Service to manage your exports in TRACE.
Please follow the instructions below to ensure you can continue to access TRACE.

1. Create your Export Service Account
(If you have already created your account and been invited to act on behalf of a business, skip to the next table for steps to link your TRACE account)

Find out who in your business is a Principal Authority or Authorisation Administrator in Relationship Authorisation Manager (RAM). This is a person who is authorised to act for your business with the ATO.

If you are:

 You need to:

Principal Authority or Authorisation Administrator

  • Open the myID app on your phone and check your identity strength is 'Strong'. If not, follow the steps to upgrade it.
  • Log into RAM to check if your business is already linked. If it isn't, follow the steps to link your business.
  • Go to the Export Service and create an account using your myID. To do this, click on the 'create an Export Service account using Digital ID' icon.
  • Add a business that is linked in RAM.
  • Invite others to act for your business in the Export Service.
  • Finally, follow the steps to add an email sign in option to your account. This will assist in ensuring your continued access to TRACE if MyID system experiences a system outage.

Other Users

  •  You will receive an invitation email with a verification code when you are invited to act for the business by the Principal Authority or Authorisation Administrator.
  • Create an Export Service account using myID (recommended) or email sign in.
  • Accept the invitation.
  • Link an email sign in to your account, to ensure access to TRACE should MyID experience system outages.

2. Once you have an active Export Service account, follow the below to link your existing TRACE account

If you are:

 You need to:

A TRACE user

  •  Log into your Export Service account and navigate to your business dashboard.
  • Select the the Export Systems sidebar then select TRACE.
  • If your Export Service account details match your TRACE record, your record will be claimed, and you will be redirected to the TRACE landing page.
  • If your details cannot be matched, you will be asked to provide and verify your email address linked to TRACE. Follow the steps on the screen to claim your account.
