New plant commodities being added to the Compliance-Based Intervention Scheme (CBIS)

Freight & Trade Alliance (FTA) and the Australian Peak Shippers Association (APSA) wish to inform members that the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF), has announced via IIAN 273-2025, that new plant commodities have been added to the Compliance-Based Intervention Scheme (CBIS). 
 

Who does this notice affect?

Importers and brokers of CBIS eligible:

  • Retail ready powdered plant products <=500g (0904.22.00.05, 0904.22.00.04, 0910.12.00.12, 0910.30.00.03)
  • Frozen fruit and vegetable products (0710, 0714, 0811, 0814)

What has changed?

The department is incorporating 2 new plant pathways onto the Compliance-Based Intervention Scheme (CBIS). The pathways and intervention points are as follows:

Frozen fruit and vegetables – Documentation intervention
Retail ready plant products – Documentation intervention.

These changes are scheduled to take effect in late
August 2025.
