| The Future Drought Fund will open 2 new grant rounds in mid to late 2025: - Innovation Challenges Pilot
The program design has been informed by public and targeted consultation, Regional Drought Resilience Plans (RDRP) and advice from industry experts. Funding of up to $2 million will be available per project through an open competitive grant process, with activities requiring completion by 30 June 2028. Projects must be delivered by a consortium of partners and provide innovative solutions to one or more of the following challenges: - Advancing Natural Capital and Biodiversity for Drought Preparedness and Resilience.?

This program supports First Nations-led, community-driven projects that build resilience to dry times and the changing climate – by Mob, for Mob. Up to six First Nations organisations, businesses or consortia will be selected as Delivery Partners through a targeted competitive grant round. Consortia may include non-Indigenous entities but must be First Nations-led. First Nation organisations will deliver place-based, community-led projects that strengthen connection to Country and build economic, social, environmental and cultural resilience to drought and climate risks. Up to $12 million in funding will be available over 3 years from 2025 to 2028.
