Tropical Cyclone Alfred - Brisbane Airport Operational Update Due to Severe Weather Event - Update 4

Freight & Trade Alliance (FTA) and the Australian Peak Shippers Association (APSA) have gathered the latest updates from Brisbane Airport Corporation and Cargo Terminal Operators (CTOs) regarding their plans for the impending impact of Tropical Cyclone Alfred:

Below is the latest update on airport operations, with all Cargo Terminal Operators (CTO) currently planning to operate as usual at this stage, but prepared to adjust as necessary based on demand and operational requirements:
  • Brisbane Airport: 
    • Current advice on Tropical Cyclone Alfred:
      • Brisbane Airport is currently operating as normal, with the Operations Team closely monitoring weather conditions. Brisbane Airport Corporation (BAC) and Airservices Australia are assessing the situation, but no decision has been made at this time to suspend or alter operations.
  • Cargo Terminal Operators (CTO): 
    • Qantas Freight
      • Qantas Freight has confirmed that operations will continue unless directed otherwise by airport authorities. They are awaiting further updates from both their carriers and the airport authority, with flights currently scheduled to proceed as planned.
    • dnata
      • dnata has confirmed that operations will continue unless directed otherwise by airport authorities. They are awaiting further updates from both their carriers and the airport authority, with flights currently scheduled to proceed as planned.
    • Menzies Aviation
      • dnata has confirmed that operations will continue unless directed otherwise by airport authorities. They are awaiting further updates from both their carriers and the airport authority, with flights currently scheduled to proceed as planned.

FTA / APSA will continue to monitor the situation and provide further updates as they become available.
