Biosecurity Amendment (Advanced Compliance Measures) Bill 2023 [Provisions] Call For Submissions

On 22 June 2023 the Senate referred the provisions of the Biosecurity Amendment (Advanced Compliance Measures) Bill 2023 to the Senate Rural and Regional Affairs and Transport Legislation Committee for inquiry and report by 27 July 2023.

The bill would amend the Biosecurity Act 2015 to enhance biosecurity compliance powers and ensure penalties for non-compliance reflect the level of risk to Australia's biosecurity. More information about this bill can be found via this link.  

The committee has invited Freight & Trade Alliance (FTA) to make a submission addressing all or some of the provisions of the bill, by COB Friday, 7 July 2023
