In response to member enquiries from today's webinar, Freight & Trade Alliance (FTA) contacted the Department of Foreign Affairs & Trade (DFAT) and the Australian Border Force (ABF) and received confirmation that a Declaration of Origin on a commercial document must include the mandatory data elements as per Annex 4A of AUKFTA.
This could be as simple as adding, for example, the data elements not already on the commercial document such as the HS classification, origin criteria and the mandatory statement.
Please note however that declarations on commercial documents must also be signed and dated. An electronic signature is acceptable.
There was also a request from members during the webinar for a sample Declaration of Origin. Participants kindly provided FTA the DFAT PDF supplied sample - this has now been converted to word format for ease of use by members - REFER ATTACHED
