UPDATE - COMPLIANCE MATERIALS (AUSTRALIA-UNITED KINGDOM FREE TRADE AGREEMENT)

Further to the Freight & Trade Alliance (FTA) and Australian Peak Shippers Association (APSA) member notice disseminated earlier today [including the Customs (Australia-United Kingdom Free Trade Agreement Implementation) Notice 2023 and Australian Customs Notice No. 2023/21] the following are now also available:

finalised guide Australia-United Kingdom Free Trade Agreement (A-UKFTA) Rules of Origin;
the commencement instrument; and
safeguard instrument related to the suspension of preferential rates of customs duties for certain goods of Chapter 72 and 73.

The Australian Border Force (ABF) has also published an update to the online working tariff that includes updates to Schedule 4 and a new Schedule 15. It is understood, that the ABF will shortly also provide rates in the Integrated Cargo System (ICS).

The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade has published a Guide to using the A-UKFTA to export and import goods.
