| | | | Welcome to this month's edition of Port of Brisbane News.
It was fantastic to welcome Seaway's first containerised train through the BMT last month, the start of its weekly service. Increasing the share of rail through the Port remains a key strategic priority and I'd like to congratulate Seaway and their partners on this great outcome.
Our Health & Safety Forum takes place mid-month. A quarterly meeting for port businesses, the forum aims to bring together health and safety representatives from across the port to discuss common issues and share learnings. I'd encourage all port businesses to consider sending a representative along.
Applications close this month for our $100,000 Community Grant Program. Please help spread the word through your networks, with more information below.

| | Containerised Train Service |
| Seaway has commenced a new containerised train service from its Central Queensland Inland Port (CQIP) facility located at Yamala. CQIP is the first inland port in Queensland offering storage, packing and a dedicated rail service to and from the Brisbane Multimodal Terminal (BMT) at the Port of Brisbane. Seaway is working closely with the agricultural sector as well as other industries which will see chickpeas, sorghum, wheat, cotton, citrus and mining-related commodities utilising the service and moved through the Port. |

As the first QTLC "freight hub", the event brought together stakeholders to learn more about ZE vehicles and the supporting services around the industry, and the opportunity to experience them first hand. Watch a highlights video of the morning here. |

| | Trailing Suction Hopper Dredger, The Brisbane |
| Our TSHD Brisbane Crew often extract large amounts of debris from the Brisbane River as part of their work. While it's disappointing to see what gets pulled out of our river system, they've been doing some fantastic work to reduce what gets sent to landfill and can instead be recycled or repurposed.
Recently, they removed around 50 tyres and instead of sending them to landfill, they've worked with Veolia and Tyrecycle, who shred them and send them onto Melbourne for further processing, so they can be sold as raw materials and repurposed. Watch the video here. |
