This fortnight, the team focused on airfreight, including completing an analysis of current vs. pre-COVID freight rates ex. East and West Coast Australia to our key trading partners. As expected, rates still much higher than pre-COVID, in part due to strong passenger demand and high input costs (such as fuel).
There is still some positive news for exporters though, with flight recovery at 80% for the third week running and an influx of new plane deliveries expected in 2023.
