| | | | Welcome to this month's edition of Port of Brisbane News, our final for 2022.
As we approach the year's end, there is plenty to update you on from around the Port.
Earlier this month we released key data from an Economic Contribution study of the Port of Brisbane and its supply chain. Using the latest economic data available, it presents compelling information about the Port, our customers and our supply chain partners as major drivers of the Queensland economy.
As the Christmas closure period approaches, please take note of our facility closing dates listed below.
Finally, on behalf of the PBPL team, I would like to thank you for your ongoing support and wish you and your loved ones a very merry Christmas, and a safe and relaxing holiday period.
If you would like more information about anything in this edition of Port of Brisbane News, please contact us.

| | MacIntyre Wind Farm update
|
| The Port of Brisbane has become a trusted partner for major renewables projects. Over recent years and as part of our collaborative approach, PBPL has invested significantly to help facilitate the movement of project cargo through the Port, including the construction of dedicated haul roads as well as access improvements into and out of storage facilities, which has enabled supply chains and created efficiencies for our stakeholders.
The Port is currently storing a significant amount of componentry for the MacIntyre Wind Farm Precinct, with more breakbulk vessels anticipated to arrive into the Port before Christmas and throughout 2023. The project itself comprises 180 turbines which, when complete, will generate 1026MW of renewable energy each year.
The giant componentry including wind blades, towers, drive trains and nacelles have started exiting the Port under highly coordinated transport management plans, destined for the project site located southwest of Warwick. This is a significant task undertaken by project partners and port customers including: ACCIONA Energia, Blue Water Shipping, AAT & Qube. |

| | Economic contribution study |
| We recently released a study, prepared by Deloitte Access Economics, that quantifies the significant economic contribution the Port of Brisbane and its supply chain makes to the Queensland economy.
The DAE report found that in FY22, Port of Brisbane and its supply chain contributed approx. $7.8 billion to the State economy and supported almost 63,000 jobs. The report also examined how this contribution will grow over time and the contribution of cruising from Brisbane.
These facts and figures speak to the vital contribution the Port, our customers and supply chain partners make, not only in terms of the economic value added to the Queensland economy, but also in supporting jobs and boosting regional prosperity.

| | | Our work to replace a large section of pavement on Lucinda Drive has marked some major sustainability achievements, which we've pursued as part of our ambitious Sustainability Program.
When the existing pavement was removed – over 11,000 tonnes – our partner Rino Recycling collected the material, which will be processed and re-used for other uses including recycled road bases and in other civil projects including car parks and hardstand areas around the Greater Brisbane area. This material has been saved from landfill and is a great example of the work we're doing to reduce the amount of waste we generate and increase our recycling efforts.
In its place, the project used a product called Reconophalt (by Downer), in lieu of traditional hot asphalt. This road surfacing material contains high recycled content of waste materials such as soft plastics, glass and toner. This has created a saving of 50.3 tonnes CO2 equivalent, which is the same as taking 21 cars off the road for one year!
Congratulations to our infrastructure team on these great sustainability outcomes. |

| | Mondiale VGL expansion completed |
| We recently completed an expansion project for long-time customer, Mondiale VGL, at our Port Gate Estate. Works commenced in June to deliver approximately 12,000 sqm of container-rated hardstand, 2,000 sqm of light duty pavement and a 350sqm office. With overall container volumes through the Port continuing to increase, the expanded hardstand has significantly increased Mondaile VGL's capacity, supporting their growth into the future.
Thank you to our Principal Contractor, FKG, and project team of Johnstaff Projects, TaylorEllis Architects, and Inertia Engineers for delivering another high-quality project for our customers. |
