Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment – Central and Regional offices
Purpose
To notify dairy manufacturers of updates to dairy export registration operations.
Key Points
To better represent what an establishment is approved and registered for, the department has reviewed its registered operations applied to dairy export manufacturing establishments. Some registered operations have been identified as inapplicable and serve no purpose to the registration. These particularly relate to storing and packing registered operations. Unless your establishment only stores dairy product for export (i.e., does not manufacture it), these registered operations are not required. If it is identified that your establishment has these registered operations and are not required, they will be removed from your establishment's registration.
Further to IAN: 2022-18, a number of new export registered operations have been created in the department's export registration system to coincide with new dairy category codes. In addition to the creation of new codes, we have also deleted several registration codes that have been identified as superfluous to needs. These changes have been introduced to assist in the process to better represent the specific product types used in the dairy industry, and ultimately what an establishment is approved to manufacture and export.
From the list attached to this IAN, please notify the department of any operations that are applicable to your manufacturing establishment's registration by COB 15 July 2022. The department will confirm that your approved arrangement includes these approved manufacturing functions before they are added to your export registration. Once confirmation is received, they will be added to your establishment's registration and a new export registration certificate will be generated and distributed to reflect this update.
