ACFS Customer Notice

Date: 16th February 2022

Subject: Tugboat Masters Strike

Dear Valued Customer,

Please be informed that on Sunday 13th February, The Australia Maritime Officers Union announced that masters of Svitzer Tugboats would strike in the ports of Sydney and Brisbane. There will be three work stoppages of 48 hours each on:

  1. Thursday, 17 February;
  2. Tuesday, 22 February;
  3. Thursday, 24 February.

Captains of these tugboats are critical to hauling ships into Port.  The impact will be felt in increased vessel berthing delays and landside import pick up and export receival schedules being disrupted.  Some vessels may omit the ports all together, leading to import transhipment delays and "rolled" export consignments.

ACFS will do everything in our power to minimise the charges and the disruption to your business but will not be held liable for any detention or penalties incurred due to this disruption outside our control.

If you have any questions in relation to the above, please don't hesitate to reach out to your Account Coordinator, otherwise you can email ACFS Sales Department - salesenquiry@auscfs.com

Yours Sincerely,

Will Gouda
