Almost two years on from the onset of the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, it is clear that the world has changed significantly. As a longstanding and active member of the World Customs Organisation (WCO) Private Sector Consultative Group (PSCG), FIATA is pleased to contribute to the PSCG's new initiative to develop best practices on coping with the new "normal". This initiative seeks to draw on the varied expertise of PSCG members to compile positive examples of how governments and industry adjusted to the pandemic, which can be leveraged around the world to improve customs processes going forward. This work will be a timely follow-up on the previous work of the PSCG on considerations for the WCO and its members in the COVID-19 pandemic, to which FIATA contributed. More information to come in 2022.
