COVID-19 updates: Visit covid19.govt.nz for details on the COVID-19 Protection Framework that apply to the different regions in NZ.

All air travellers to NZ (except those from Antarctica and most Pacific Islands) must have a negative COVID-19 test taken returned within 72 hours of their first scheduled international flight. All non-NZ citizens must be fully vaccinated before travelling to NZ and spend seven days in an MIQ facility followed by home isolation until they return a negative day nine test. On 17 January 2022, fully vaccinated NZ citizens can begin travelling to NZ from Australia without entering MIQ. Some countries in Africa have been designated as Very High Risk - only NZ citizens, their partners and dependent children may return from those countries, and they must spend 14 days in MIQ. Visit the COVID-19 international travel site for more information.

The isolation period for maritime travellers is now 10 days. For more information on travelling via sea, visit health.govt.nz
