VICT recommences operations

Sunday, September 26, 2021

Further to Friday's member notices, incredibly difficult times lie ahead with the likelihood of increased COVID-19 cases in Sydney / Melbourne operations and industrial action "hotting up" at Patrick container terminals nationally - a detailed commentary on the latter will be shared with members tomorrow (Monday 27 September 2021).

In the interim we have some welcome news.

Freight & Trade Alliance (FTA) and the Australian Peak Shippers Association (APSA) have received advice from from Victorian International Container Terminal (VICT) executive yesterday (Saturday 25 September 2021) that land and quay side operations commenced from 06:00 today (Sunday 26 September 2021).

"The following additional detail has been provided:

Over the course of the week, we will have some restrictions on our operations due to employees being identified as close contacts and requiring to isolate for 14 days.

Due to strict shift changes, please see Landside operating hours for the next 2 days

Sunday 06:00 – 17:00 (Slot release at 16:00 today)
Sunday 18:00 – 05:00 (Slot release at 16:00 today)
Monday 06:00 – 17:00 (Slot release at 07:00 tomorrow)
Monday 18:00 – 05:00 (Slot release at 07:00 tomorrow)

A separate notice will be sent on VBS notices regarding free time and vessel cut offs

From the 2nd October, we expect operations to resume as per normal

We are grateful for your support and understanding during this period"
