Twelve community organisations from across South East Queensland will soon receive a funding boost, with Port of Brisbane Pty Ltd (PBPL) announcing its 2021 Community Grants recipients.
Sharing in a total of $100,000, the community organisations are located from Brisbane's Bayside to the Lockyer Valley and Toowoomba, with funding supporting important initiatives across education and training, youth leadership, and community welfare.
PBPL Interim CEO, Neil Stephens congratulated all recipients and thanked them for the valuable work they're delivering in the community.
"We're delighted to support a diverse range of organisations and projects that make such an important difference in our community," said Mr Stephens.
"Since launching our annual Community Grant Program in 2013, we have awarded $870,000 to 127 community focused organisations.
"And we've stepped up our support through our new Employee Volunteering Program which launched last year as part of our COVID response to do more to support the community.
"During 2020/21, I'm proud to say our people rolled up their sleeves and volunteered over 700 hours of their time to help our community partners. We're encouraging our employees to use their full entitlement of 2 days volunteer leave and go even bigger this year."
